Grave Matters
Grave Matters follows families who found in “green” burial a more natural, more economic, and ultimately more meaningful alternative to the tired and toxic send-off offered at the local funeral parlor.
Eschewing chemical embalming and fancy caskets, elaborate and costly funerals, they have embraced a range of natural options, new and old, that are redefining a [...]
Herbs and Hormones: Part 2
It is possible to balance hormones with food. This concept may seem strange because you can’t actually eat hormones. What people often don’t understand is that all parts of the body are tightly intertwined. When something is wrong in one area, it can have a dramatic affect on every other area of the body. Nutrition is often the underlying cause of many health problems seen today.
The body’s hormones are balanced by the multiple glands. For instance, the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands all have major impacts on how the body operates and functions. When these glands do not operate as expected, this can cause a variety of health problems in the body.
A lack of vitamins, minerals and general nutrition causes our body’s glands to not operate well. Since these glands don’t have the proper support they need in the form of nutrition, they have a more difficult time doing their job of maintaining the various health functions of the body. Simply by choosing healthier foods and lifestyles, the various glands in our bodies can be managed and maintained.
So the very first step in helping to balance hormonal problems is to start eating better. You hear the same mantra time and again for almost any type of health related problem, and the reason you keep hearing it is because it truly does make a difference.
Sugars and simple starches wear down your body with malnutrition. They also add excess body fat, and make all areas of your body have to work harder to clear out the added blood sugars you’re feeding
it.
Fiber rich foods, particularly fruits and vegetables, are very high in many types of nutrition that our bodies desperately need. Just the small step of adding more fruits and vegetables to your daily food intake can make a huge difference in how your body feels on a daily basis.
Now, if you have a difficult time adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet, you can get some very healthy doses of those vitamins and minerals by taking herbal supplements. Essentially, herbal supplements are like having vegetables in a pill. Most herbs contain a wealth of vitamins, minerals and essential nutrients our bodies are sorely lacking.
By boosting your nutrition with food and herbs, you’ll help your body’s thyroid and other glands begin to operate properly again, and this will in turn start regulating your hormone levels naturally.
So, what do you think?

I am having difficult times to prepare vegetables and foods, I am so active and always on the go, so I’m just relying on herbal supplements. But sometimes it’s not enough, if we have time to prepare healthy meals at least twice a week maybe it will balance our diet.

One who wanted to have beautiful skin and healthy body must eat healthy foods, but that person needs to learn how to cook. It is not hard, actually it is fun because one will learn many recipes and one could make his beloved ones happy.
Its two birds in one stone. First is that person will become healthy and beautiful, second, one could become a chef, and that is so nice.
If I did not practice cooking, maybe I still suffer from my acne problem. The funny thing for me is that I am so vain because before I am also fat, and I love eating. But instead with sheer determination, I decided to diet but I wanted to eat delicious foods. That is when I dedicated myself to eat only healthy foods, And I need to learn how to cook.
And what a reward, my girlfriend always say. She always kiss me whenever I create a new healthy and delicious recipe.

Herbs can definitely affect hormone levels. The Chinese have been proving this for 1000’s of years. That should be a great book to read. People spend so much money on supplements now and have to make sure they are getting the right one for them. Thanks for the info
