Hangover Free Holidays
During the holiday season, we tend to over indulge in alcohol as well as food. Depending on your tolerance for liquor, it may seem amazing that a few seemingly harmless drinks can lead to the misery that comes with a hangover. I had an ex boyfriend that swore drinking a gallon of water before passing out would ensure no hangover after a night drinking. As a tea totaller, I have many many years of experience cleaning up after wasted friends. I can say with authority, that while it may prevent a headache, drinking that much water is hell on bedding.
Dehydration is only one symptom of a hangover. Mental symptoms such as irritability, dizziness, depression, and anxiety are also common. Dehydration is responsible for the pounding headache and your tongue sticking to the roof of your mouth. Other physical symptoms of a hangover are queasy stomach, dry throat, redness of the eyes, thirst, and fatigue. In addition, you may also experience a rapid heartbeat, tremors, muscle aches, and sweating. Drinking lots of water, then, does two things: it re-hydrates your body and dilutes the impurities left in your belly.
There are impurities in alcoholic beverages, and these contribute to the upset stomach you get with your hangover. These impurities are especially high in mixed drinks and malt liquors so you might consider organic drink mixers. The best way to get hangover is to by cleansing and eliminating the body of toxins. Herbs and homeopathic remedies can be very effective in doing this.
There are many home made remedies for hangovers that actually work. For instance, having burned toast is one remedy that makes sense. The carbon on the toast will filter toxins from your system. This is the same remedy that doctors apply on a larger scale to people with alcohol poisoning.
If you’re determined to abuse alcohol then there’s nothing that will keep you from getting a hangover; however, if you plan on drinking moderately, you can definitely avoid it.

ReplyFirst of all you should never drink and drive, because you may end up dead, in jail, or worse killing someone. Then all this other mumble jumble seems inaccurate to me. What happens when you drink is that your brain will shrink as it dehydrates and that causes the hangover. The best way to avoid the hangover is to keep your alcohol consumption to a minimum or slow it down. Water down your drinks and alternate water and alcohol milk a drink, then milk a glass of water. If you know you are going to drink consume enough water throughout the day, before you begin drinking.
